For a moment, white dress forgotten. Time stands still. There is nothing like the bubbles of love that baby giggles can bring.

It wasn’t so much the romance of this kiss that caught our hearts here; it was her smile. The way she scrunched her nose. The way her eyes lit up. The giggle they shared. Those tiny intimacies had our hearts singing.

.....and there it was; the light that exists within love. That light shines between them, bringing them strength, bonding them together. A light full of potential, of mystery, of hope. We rarely see that light but we feel it. We know and trust that it exists. We believe in it, unseen. But for those few fleeting seconds, they were shining.

Kids at weddings certainly do up the cute factor, but you never really know what they’ll get up to.

Actually, that's why we love them so much.

On a day where so much is planned and organised and styled to perfection, it is often the things we don't expect that we remember and treasure the most.

Oh the sheer joys of Lina and Grant!

In every way, this tiny wedding, punched high above its weight, in coolness, quirkiness and total rock-star attitude .From start to finish, this was a if-it-doesn’t-matter-we’re-not-doing-it affair, which meant that everything mattered. 

Lina rocked bright coral orange and a new short , semi-shaved haircut. Yay - a bride that wasn’t in white - just this once! She gave our friend, Robyn, the celebrant, the challenge of texting her the one word she would know as a sign, to make her way down from Park Hyatt, to meet Grant.

It’s true what they say about small things.

Good things come in small packages.
Small fish are sweeter.
It’s the little things that matter the most.

All true - and never truer than when it comes to weddings.

Stephanie and Jayme were just like that. They told us upfront that they were awkward in front of the camera and had no idea what to do.

The wedding was held at Shell Harbour, about two hours’ drive from Sydney. It was a long drive, but I think it was worth it because the view along the coast was amazing. Imagine this, the warm sea breeze coming through your window, blue sky with warm sunshine on your skin, and the most spectacular thing was the sound coming from the ocean waves.

You can spend months (and sometimes years) preparing for your perfect day. You’ll gather your perfect vendors, each with a vision for your day that matches your own. You will spend forever working out your timelines and seating charts.

What you simply can’t do is prepare for how you will feel on the day, itself. Emotions can hit you with a force you didn't expect.

This moment, captured completely by accident is why we do what we do - and why we have deliberately changed the way we do things. For so long, we were rushing.

We rushed from one location to the other. We rushed to make sure that everything on our checklist was ticked off. Everything was fast. The pace was frantic; the energy almost frenetic and while we were proud of our work, we felt like we were missing something. We were.

There are so many ways to wed.
From the most intimate of ceremonies to the most lavish of parties, with hundreds of guests, we have been lucky enough to share in all kinds.
The smaller ones are all about the couple and those few guests. They are all in the same moment together.

The bigger ones are our greatest challenge.
When it comes to party time, we are turning our cameras on you, of course, but also on your family and friends.

We slipped inside so quietly that Kellie didn't even know we were in the room, when we filmed this little moment.

We’ll never forget the lesson we learned about family from some dear friends of ours.

Three months after their wedding, the bride’s beloved Grandpa passed away. He hadn't been well for a while and had been too ill to attend their wedding. Just before we left the house to make our way to the ceremony, she asked us to take a photo of her, in her white dress, with her Grandpa. 

The First Look is becoming more and more popular at our weddings. 

It’s a moment of quiet, between the two of you, before the ceremony, before the craziness, the push and pull, the family love, before everything everything really gets going. 

It was the hottest, windiest January day ever - and close to 40 degrees, but by the time we were getting ready for Peter and Elaine’s wedding ceremony, the storm clouds were rolling in. When we finished, we had minutes to get the trickiest of all things - a big group shot with absolutely everyone. We knew how much Peter and Elaine love their families and friends.
